I invite you to regularly visit our “Headlines” and “Key Focus Area” sections of the home page to stay on top of the many things the city is doing to make Irving an even better place to call home.

Over the past few years, several new initiatives and processes have been implemented to ensure a more focused, productive and results-oriented organization. Our Strategic Plan has proven to be successful as it continues to guide us in accomplishing our goals. We have enjoyed success with all 10 strategic goals, including the eight key focus areas identified by residents and City Council.

Some of the city’s significant results include increased public safety, enhanced code enforcement initiatives and improved neighborhoods. We also have enhanced our capital improvement projects with plans for more than $4 billion in new economic development projects on the horizon.

All of our city departments are responsible for focusing on outcome-oriented programs and are challenged to look for ways to improve processes and customer service delivery. Irving is the first city in Texas to implement the use of Lean Six Sigma to find breakthrough improvements in the services provided to our residents, visitors and businesses.

Irving is progressing as an organization—and as a city—and the changes that have been put in place will produce additional results as we continue to move forward. I hope you enjoy our Web site and will visit it often to see the many results that are yet to come!
